Koulutuksen sisältö
The training introduces participants to the key principles of Finnish employment contracts and the legal framework governing their termination. The session, led by Joanna Ahokanto-Niemi, clarifies the important distinction between an employment contract and an employment relationship, emphasizing that statutory obligations arise from the employment relationship itself.
Through practical explanations, the training outlines the essential components that must be considered when drafting an employment contract, including defining core job duties, working hours, and the nature of the contract—whether permanent, fixed-term, or mixed-term. The course also covers the rules concerning trial periods: a maximum of six months for permanent contracts and up to half of the contract duration for fixed-term agreements, with provisions for extending the trial period in cases of employee absence.
