Understanding Unconscious Biases

Unconscious biases are preconceptions, learned assumptions, beliefs or attitudes that exist without our conscious awareness. All humans have biases. If left unchecked, they can lead to prejudice or unequal treatment. In the workplace unconscious biases impact the way people work by for example affecting with whom they choose to collaborate, the way they lead and the way they communicate.
